HUMILITY!

As this Jubilee Year of Mercy enters its final month, this weekend we celebrate the Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our readings focus on humility. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus teaches us the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. Jesus shows us the way to the Father who is a God of justice and mercy. Since God knows what is in our hearts, we can approach God with confidence, acknowledging our faults and relying on Divine Mercy. The Tax Collector was humble because he understood the depth of his sinful behavior. True humility calls for us to acknowledge and draw upon the good that is in within ourselves that need healing through God’s grace.
