HAPPY EASTER!

These past forty days of Lent have been a time for us to reflect on the positive changes we would like to make in our life and remind ourselves that we are all on this journey together. Our theme this Lent was “Let’s Eliminate Negative Thinking.” During our Lenten Parish Mission, Capuchin Franciscan Father Scott Seethaler reminded us of several key points: God is not missing in our life, make prayer a daily part of our life, forgive those who have hurt us, and don’t let worry take over our life.

Today we rejoice at Easter as the tomb is empty. St. John places Mary Magdalene at the center of his Resurrection Gospel. As she approaches the tomb, she sees the rolled-away stone and sees that the tomb is empty. Mary Magdalene is the first person at the tomb in all four gospels and she is the messenger who then brings Peter and the Beloved Disciple to see that the stone has been moved.

Easter is about Jesus, the Jesus who announced God’s kingdom. We celebrate the triumph of life over death, hope over despair, light over darkness and good over evil. Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

HAPPY EASTER!
